Autumn in textures, it's time for you to cosy up

Autumn in textures, it's time for you to cosy up - Cotswold Luxe
Autumn – into the cosy fireside season.

I don’t know about you but when I get home at this time of year, the first thing I do is light an Autumnal fragranced candle (or three). Then I make a hot drink in my favourite mug, grab a throw to cover my knees and sit by a log fire.

On these cool sunny (or sometimes dreary) Autumn days, our thoughts turn to comfort and cosiness; log fires, roast dinners, indulgent hot drinks and the beautiful scents of berries, spices and smoky woods.

Autumn is the season of ‘mists and mellow fruitfulness’, of apples, blackberries, squashes, first frosts and pumpkins. We can reflect this beautiful season in our homes, by adding warmth with textural cushions or layering up our sofas and chairs with throws, sheepskins and hides. We can recreate the scents of Autumn and the fireside by lighting atmospheric scented candles as the nights draw in.

There’s nothing better than sitting in one of our cosy armchairs, placed near a log fire, wrapping up in a warm throw and reading a great book on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Or if you’re the outdoor type, how about a lovely dog walk around our beautiful Cotswold countryside - Vegetable Matters farm shop and café in our neighbouring village of Ebrington stocks a booklet with five guided walks, of varying length, created by the Cotswold Wardens to take you around the local villages.

Wrap up warmly in one of our Tif Tiffy cardigans and a scarf, pull on your Ilse Jacobsen boots and tramp around the fields, getting some fresh air – and picking blackberries from the hedges on the way. Then it’s back to the fireside to warm up (or dry out) with a warm drink, back at that cosy fireside..

Wishing you happy Autumn thoughts and if you’d like some help to create that warm, textural Autumn feeling in your home, please pop in to the store for a chat.

Warm wishes,
Katie
